    Abstract

    Vital statistics is one of the most important sources of population statistics and an essential element in studying and analysising of population trends & characteristics and population estimates.It helps planners and decision-makers to develop appropriate development plans,policies and programs to face the population problem in its different dimensions which are the most important obstacles to economic and social development.From this point Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics issued "Annual bulletin of births and deaths"which includes population estimates,preparing of births and deaths and their rates in A.R.E,CAPMAS is keen to develop data collecting method for this bulletin in cooperation with the concerned authorities to ensure comprehensive and accuracy of these data.CAPMAS presents this publication for 2016 to be helpul to researchers and interested hoping to achieve its objectives.

    Deaths,children under five deaths and infant deaths (urban / rural) and (males / females) and Total in the Republic governorates
    General deaths according to marital status - profession - age groups with gender
    General deaths according to death causes
    Infant deaths (less than one year) according to death causes
    Maternal mortality rate (Ministry of Health)
    Infant death in the governorates (urban / rural) according to death causes
    *No. of deaths with severe injuries according to external causes and injury nature,age and gender

    Alive births and deaths otifications include special data such as:
    1-Alive births:Birth gender - Mother's age - Father's profession - Mother habitual residence place - Fertility data.
    2-Deaths: Deceased gender - Deceased age - Profession - Marital status - Deceased habitual residence place - Death cause
    These notifications are received by health clerks at all Health Offices throughout the Republic
    3- High-risk casualty deaths form gets from police stations and departments

    1-As of 2013,Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS),in corporation with Ministry of Health Information Center obtained registered Birth and Death data
    in the center on an electronic medium according to a cooperation agreement between the parties in reviewing and verifying completion deaths data caused by external causes
    2-Deaths data are collected through the sections and police centers in the governorates.
